Newer research shows that it takes on average 66 days to form new habits. This is over 2 months and can be shorter or longer depending on the person. My goal with nutrition coaching is to help instill new habits in a person so that they make lifelong changes in how they eat. I want people to be healthier and to eat healthier. I don’t like to focus on calories or other numbers because its not sustainable to eat this way and trains you to not listen to when you are hungry, full, low energy, etc. I want to help create new habits to help someone lower cholesterol, lose weight, perform better in a race, and feel better!

I recently had a coaching client send me an email to let me know that they felt they had learned a lot from working with me and were ready to “go out on their own.” This is one of the most rewarding things I can hear because that is my ultimate goal with every person I work with! Not only do I create plans, but I like to educate my clients about why they should be eating certain things and how to pay attention to cues their body is giving them. Continued monthly coaching is always a possibility and certainly some people who have multiple goal races every year can really benefit from ongoing coaching as nutrition needs change for different types of events.
